Well, I am bummed to say that I have not been keeping up with my blog or my Instagram account over the last several months… Honestly, I didn’t realize how HUGE of a blessing this blog and my Insta account has been for ME!

I mean, who knew that having this blog and friends on my insta account would provide motivation for me to work out, eat healthy, and make POSITIVE decisions in my life?! Welp, I never really realized it until NOW… and I am so very excited that the New Year is approaching because I am excited to make some positive changes in 2017 🙂

Here is a bit of a catch up about what’s happened in the last 8 months… Chase and I were on a 5-year plan of moving to our vacation home in Idaho, in hopes of raising our daughter in the awesome little community there. Well, to make this long story MUCH shorter, I was offered a teaching position and Chase was too… So, we prayed about it A LOT and took a HUGE leap of faith and decided to sell our home in California and move 1,300 miles to beautiful Northern Idaho. Thankfully, my parents decided to pack up their things and moved down the street from us–which has been HUGE!

That said, we moved August 1st and started a completely new chapter of our lives! I must also explain, thisscreen-shot-2016-12-30-at-4-05-44-pm
new chapter did NOT include a preface or lengthy introduction… About a week after moving into our new home we found out I was pregnant with baby number two!!! You know, you try for a year and then in the craziest time of your life happens and THAT IS WHEN you conceive a baby (that’s how you know it MUST be part of God’s plan :)!). Andddd… after that we both started our new teaching jobs at the elementary level (something I hadn’t done in 5 years and the youngest Chase had ever taught was 6th grade)… If that wasn’t enough I also agreed to coach girls volleyball at the middle school, which started the first week of school!

So, fast forward to today… December 30th, 2016. It’s been a crazy blur! There’s been lots of morning sickness and regular sickness and my toddler is spunky, sweet, sassy, and melts my heart day after day 🙂 I haven’t completed a formal workout in I-don’t-know-how-long or counted calories, tracked carbs, followed my eating plan… Eeeeek! But, I must say I’ve done my best to chase my toddler around and try to make healthy snacking choices… but I have NOT been consistent. So far, in this pregnancy, I’ve gained 4 pounds (those really all just piled on since Christmas Eve–WHOOPS!).  Anyway, it’s fairly easy to say that we’ve been in SURVIVAL mode–and we are surviving!!! 🙂 Also, I am so very thankful to say that WE ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT HERE!!! And we love, love, LOVE this new, crazy, chapter of our lives.

So, what’s next for 2017? BALANCE 🙂 In looking forward, I know I am due with a baby boy, Canon, in April–which brings lots of newness and LEARNING! I have lots to do for teaching before going out on leave… Chase will be coaching high school baseball…It’s going to be ANOTHER crazy and busy chapter. HOWEVER, this time, I want to keep up with documenting the journey and continue to make positive decisions to be the very best ME!

So, I am excited to say that I am going to stay committed. Committed to being the very best me in this new year and taking the steps to best document my efforts!

Oh, and here are a few of my New Years’ Resolutions… 1) Workout for at least 20 minutes four days per week. 2) Clean eating (as best as possible–ex. I eat yogurt dressing, Ketchup, etc.) all week with one cheat meal and one “easy/frozen” meal per week (ex. Costco lasagna with homemade salad).  3) Spend at least an hour a week documenting the journey–however that may be (journaling, blogging, Instgramming–is that a verb?). 4) God, Family & Friends, and then everything else in moderation. Gotta keep my proprieties straight to be the very best ME! 🙂

Thank you for following my blog–I promise to continue to post (what I think are) helpful blogs regarding healthy eating, fitness, and finances 🙂 But I also hope to post general updates regarding my progress as a wife, mommy, and follower of Jesus. It’s all about finding that silver living, right?! Gotta LOVE that silver lining!!!

Much love, Summer
